Here's what I recommended to women nearing or in their menopausal changes

Here are my hot tips and recommendations!

1. Layering Oria Skin products - start with light water based serums then moisturiser, then oil - that locks it all in! and brings the glow! I have created an easy to shop pack called The Essentials - this has the 3 products to get your started!

2. You don't HAVE to cleanse in the morning - there is so much confusion around when and how much to cleanse - but I believe that the skin's microbiome is healthy after a night's sleep after using all the products the night before - so a simple cold water wash is fine!

3. Luminous Cleanse Oil is good for cleansing after the day, AND reapplying as your face hydrant oil - this can literally be it, if you're feeling time pressed - but of course I always recommend the full ritual when you are aiming to get excellent results.

4. Save and splurge:
SAVE - water - drink lots, its free! Hydration is the key to healthy skin. EAT vitamin rich veg and another thing is BORON is amazing for menopause - it's in things like peanut butter, broccoli and avo.
SAVE - layering my products makes them go the distance! -  I will always suggest at least 3 - the Hydration Booster Serum - essential for that plumping restoration , The Balancing Day Cream for firming and balancing skin - and the Rejuvenating Face Oil - to lock in, also rich in Vit A (natural retinol) amazing for age-preservation (lets say getting the best out of your amazing LIVING skin) another product I didn't go into - is the Brightening Enzyme Polish - as we age, we need more help to exfoliate / shed dead and dry skin - you might think because it is dry, you don't want to scrub it - but let me tell you - once or twice a week this polish is so great - its like buffing up a car - haha - it will help your products sink in, plus give you a really impressive complexion - which leads me on to say

SPLURGE - a couple of times a year you might like to get a professional peel - these can have really great long lasting results- and get one that has no stand down period.

SPLURGE - A LED face mask, LED Red light rejuvenation is really great for skin health and cell turnover - there's a lot of amazing research about this and its completely safe, and can help with skin longevity.

NOTE - just because a product might be $140 bucks - does not mean it is any better than my mid-range products - so don't be fooled by cleaver marketing - again, read ingredients and see how many 'fillers' there are or preservatives, and avoid ALL FRAGRANCE or you are undoing all the good work that other ingredients might be doing. I have priced my products as achievable as I can - they are 100% full of goodness for your skin - no fillers! made fresh, and bioactive (the active ingredients from NZ that your skin will really respond to).

5. Collagen supplements- like I said, Ive tried a few and most I didn't notice, but this product is really great - I think because you mix in 500mls of water, you're getting hydrated too - it's yummy and it has the ingredients that my skincare has for the outside, but for the inside!  https://nz.simplynootropics.com/products/vital-beauty-collagen-powder-mango-passion

6. The important ingredients I said to look to be sure they are in your products are:
Hyaluronic Acid (this is in my Hydration Booster, and Vitamin C Serum)

Vitamin C - in my Vitamin C Serum obviously and this is one that is more stable so doesn't expire as fast as others on the market. This not only protects from UV, it also helps support collagen generation in the skin cells. Also helps fade pigmentation or dark lines.

Niacinamide - Really great for brightening complexion, fading pigmentation and imporices the skin barrier which results in better appearing skin texture. This is in my Balancing Day Cream (and Blemish Repair Balm)

Ceramides and Peptides  - the building blocks and cement for skin - these are in my oils.

Proviatmin B% - healing for skin barrier - great for really damaged or sensitive skin - or if you're trying to recover skin from something like eczema or dermatitis - this si in my Vitamin C Serum  too.

7. My Rejuvenating Face Oil has my eye serum combined in it! (this used to be seperate but I wanted to simplify for you!)

8. What might have always worked for your skin before and now doesnt is a result of your skins PH levels changing, everything changes with menopause and hormonal changes - this just means we need to take a different approach, it does not mean there is anything wrong with you or skin - its very common and natural - we just have to learn what our body likes and that is why I created my products - they are ingredients by nature, made so your body knows exactly what to do with them and they do not complicate matters any more for your hormones!

I am so glad we have these conversations about what helps in the changing times we as women go through - thank you again for listening to my ramblings and thank you Emma for inviting me to join your Sparkle Squad!

Much Love,

Kate xx
